For Next Week: Nazareth Sermon
READ: Matthew 13:54-58; Mark 6:1-6; Luke 4:16-30
PRAY: Pray in thanksgiving for your family and neighbors, and ask for God’s blessings on them, even (and especially) those who it might be hard to love at times.
DO: Bring good news to the poor by being a voice for them. Contact an organization like the ELCA Hunger Appeal or Bread for the World to find out how you can write letters to advocate for the poor. Listen for when in worship this phrase from Luke 4:18 is used. What does this mean for our act of worship?

PONDER:In what places / with what people are or were you “Little N…” long after you’d grown up? What is/was different in those circles than with other people whom you associate? How does this make you feel?
§ Have friends or family ever treated you condescendingly? What was it like?
§ Have friends or family ever given you special treatment? What was it like?
If Jesus brought the fulfillment of God’s kingdom, why is there still so much bad stuff?
How do you experience Jesus fulfilling God’s promises today?
How would you like to see God’s promises fulfilled today?
Who are the “poor” or “outcast” in our communities? How can we make sure they know God’s word is for them?
